João Botelho de Melo is a Partner at Seruya & Melo, with a practice focused mainly on corporate law, employment law, international mobility and enforcement litigation.

He advises companies, investors and individuals, both national and international, supporting strategic decisions and relocation to Portugal, with a pragmatic, results-driven approach.

His work centres on the structuring and legal support of corporate transactions, the management of employment matters and the design of legal strategies in the context of international mobility, ensuring effective solutions tailored to clients’ needs.

He also has significant experience in civil and enforcement litigation, with a particular focus on debt recovery and the conduct of enforcement proceedings, ensuring a firm, results-oriented approach.

He began his career with traineeships at Seara & Associados and Raposo Subtil e Associados (RSA), later joining BNP Paribas, where he worked for around a decade. There, he took on team management and coordination responsibilities, gaining solid operational and strategic experience in managing credit portfolios and recovery proceedings.

He holds a law degree and is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association.
